treeskinHadn't taken the time to update for a while, so I hadn't noticed. Blech.
Not much news. By's been working really long hours, 'tis the season. He didn't leave work until 9:20 last night, he said, and he was supposed to be as early as possible this morning. But he's supposed to be set free by 6 or so tonight. And he's got tomorrow off. I'm planning on calling in with an eye problem ("Boss, I just don't see myself coming in to work today") tomorrow, so we can go do things. I think we're going to go walk the Plaza show tomorrow, and RenFest Sunday (for a bit of shopping) before we have to be at the Plaza to help Robyn take down the booth.
Rehearsal last night was better. With Betty there, and yet more new (to me) music, Bob was playing other lines (I guess he picks whatever looks the easiest in terms of counting) besides melody, and it sounded better. But I'm more than a bit frustrated with this business. I REALLY don't like this bit of "here's the music, learn it quick we're playing in 10 days". She'd given us piles of stuff this spring, all of which is now too difficult to learn in the time we've got left, because she overbooked us al summer, and we've been scrambling around trying to prepare different sets of music every month. Gak. Susan and Carol say Betty used to be much better about this, it's one of the ways her age is showing.
The UnSock Report: Not much to report. Got a couple of inches done on the leftover shawl, because it's a very easy knit, and I've been tired and cranky and crampy all week, and not able to concentrate on much. Planning to work on something more engaging tonight.
