I feel like I could go to bed right now and sleep until noon tomorrow. PMS, gotta love it. Especially when I'm cycling two weeks late, and it has that much longer to build up.

Been mostly puttering at work the past couple of days....not much accomplished, but I've looked busy. Don't think the new boss has noticed the difference. Talked to my ex-boss a bit this morning while he was in gloating over his life of leisure visiting. He's enjoying being retired--his blood pressure is way down, and they've backed off on some of his heart meds, so it's been really good for him. Must remember to call him after work tonight with the info on the Brandeis book sale that's coming up.

We were going to go to the Pagan Drive-In Night tonight, but we're both running tired, and By has no idea when he's going to get home from work tonight, so we're going to stay home and veg. He said last night that Terry wanted to be done with the demo job today, if possible, so if it was late afternoon and there wasn't much left, he'd just stay and finish.

He's salvaged a pair of small hot water heaters (for my herb shed, and maybe one for the shop, too), more of those doors, some shelf-sized lumber, and a bunch of electrical outlet boxes from this job. And part of his stash went away Thursday night...Courtney came and took what shed parts she could fit on her dad's old truck, and she wants more when she can borrow a trailer.

Not much knitting to report. I set the halter top/summer top aside for a while, until I was less frustrated. Picked up a pile of black acrylic yarn and started a stash-buster project: a comfy, ribbed, thick, all-black sweater for By. The pattern's out of the Green Mountain Spinnery pattern book (I forget the name right now). It calls for a bulky yarn, but the worsted held double works ok, size 10 needles...The pattern calls for the front and back pieces to be worked separately, but I can't be bothered to do that silliness, I'll work it in the round until the armholes. Which shouldn't take long, I got 2" done last night, and that was a light knitting evening. I will probably take the pattern and yarn for the summer top with me tomorrow, and work on that in the car. It's not tough car knitting, and the sock in my purse won't take that long to finish.

I'm considering doing another lily of the valley shawl with the silk and wool. The first one went so fast, and looks very nice, and I still have a good chunk of yarn left. And that would let me give one away (if I ever decided who, among my lovely friends, was the most worthy), and keep one for myself to enjoy. Hmm. I need to sit down and figure out what I want for a shawl/scarf chest. I'm keeping two large lace shawls, so far, plus the first two heavy triangle shawls, and they all need a better home that a shelf in the closet. Correction...three lace shawls, counting the lily of the valley shawl.

Oooooo, that gives me another stashbuster idea. There was a pattern in Knitty last winter, for a simple triangular shawl, worked from point to top, with nice cables running up the sides. And, wonder of wonders, worked in simple acrylic yarn, because the pattern designer is a poor student. I definitely have the yarn to do 1 or 2 of those.
