Okay, I'm not to work yet. Nearly forgot:

The UnSock Report: the projects I took to Heartland

I took a bunch of yarn for scarves, but didn't touch it, aside from showing off that Rowan cotton tape yarn. Did start on a black winter scarf for By, in a wool blend (I'm guessing) boucle, simple 2x2 rib pattern, very wide. Figured I'd just knit on that until I ran out of yarn, unless he declared it long enough first. It's about 3' long right now. Also took that lace shawl I'm going in the wool singles...I've finished the eyelet diamonds section, did a panel of plain knitting, a wide band of trinity stitch, and now I'm doing feather and fan. Probably do feather and fan the rest of the way, it's pretty easy. I need to think about a longer needle for that project; it's just barely fitting on the 26".

The UnSock Report: a project inspired by Heartland

Every time we go camping, we pull out a simple crocheted rug I made to use in the tent, and By says I should make more of those. They're easy, other than holding onto them...done with a K hook and 3 strands of yarn. I started a long narrow rectangle (it's about 40" long by about 9" wide right now), in olives and beiges and browns. That's intended for the walkway from the tent door to the bed. Also started a round rug (it's 15" across right now) to use up the bits that were too small or didn't match the yarns in the first. I've used up 8 balls of yarn so far, which is a decent start on my goal of using/getting rid of all that acrylic yarn I was given. (For that matter, the olive/brown rug started as a pile of skeins that fell out of the cabinet when I went looking for yarn....just picked up what was on the floor and started.)
