I'm home *sniffle* "sick" today. Left work at lunch time yesterday, too. Actually was sickish yesterday, plus it being completely dead at work.....
By's got today off too, since he was in on Monday. Let's see, I started typing this as 10:40 am, so we got up around 10:35.
The Sock Report: frogged the entrelac socks I'd started. Wasn't getting the right gauge, and my yarns weren't all the same size, to the gauge was going to be a bigger issue further into the sock. I'd tucked a skein of the shaded orange alpaca into my take-to-work bag, but didn't start anything at work yesterday.
The Unsock Report: The Lopi sweater is up to 14 inches. I'd love to have it finished while it was still cold enough to wear it this season. I'll start the transition to the dark blue background in 2 1/2 inches, then 3 1/2 inches of the dark blue, join the sleeves, and then do the yoke and neckline.
The Sweater is about 1 1/2" deep, still in the corrugated ribbing, which I've decided I don't enjoy working, but love the look, so I must sigh and trudge on. I'd planned a bottom ribbing of 2" or so. I expect things will go much faster, even with the colorwork, once I'm out of the ribbing.
My sister called Wed night to see if I'd heard the family gossip yet. Since I haven't called Mom since we've been back from Virginia (I know, bad me, but we've been busy!), I hadn't. The gossip is.....
Mouse is pregnant again. 5-8 weeks, she thinks. Argh. She told me Mom had sounded less than excited about it, to which I replied, "Well, she's worried about you." Mouse says "I worry about me too, but that's what Zanac is for." Yeah, but she can't take that while she's pregnant.
I was about ready to slap her for being stupid when I heard how this happened. She'd gone off the pill, because she was having bad reactions to it (given our family medical history, no big surprise), and figured that since it took them so long to get pregnant with Jake, one of them wasn't very fertile, and so they'd just not worry about it.
*shakes head*
There are days when I do not understand my sister at all. For a smart lady, she's made some dumb decisions.
So, I guess I'm making baby stuff this spring, for her and one of my coworkers, since both will be due around August.
By says, don't drink the water. It might be catching.

I just don't even know what to say. Except that, I've seen this plan before (your Mom) and it's much too clever to fail twice...maybe.
