Got the waste yarn removed and the stitches for both heels picked up on the Greco-Turkish socks while we were out and about this afternoon, and started knitting the first heel. Didn't get as much done as I'd wanted to.

After we'd gotten home, and bonked, and had dinner, I started AND FINISHED the first of the Fireside Sox. Those go really really fast. I'm letting my hands rest now; my hands get more tired using the large (#10) needles.

There and back again. Didn't do the recycling; figured neither of us wanted to slide around on the ice that much. Hwy 24-40 was messy until the west side of Tongie, then it was fine. And the roads in Lawrence weren't bad, parking lots were messy, but most of the roads we were on were ok. Did get the shopping done--a bit of yarn, #2 and #10 sock needles, reinforcing yarn for the alpaca yarn By's mom gave me, and some fun stuff. Pier One has some lovely faux fur pillows on sale right now.

Had a message from [livejournal.com profile] anguisetteowner when we got home. He made it to his dad's house ok, said he got in about 6am, and slept until 1:30 in the afternoon. Was good to have him visit.

Any chance Ranj and I can come over and get a shower tomorrow?

Our hot water heater appears to have died.

No prob. You know where we live, you know where the shower is, help yourself.

I don't know how to run the coffee maker, so Ranj will have to do that for himself.

I have new string to show off *grin*

For that matter

why don't you load up your dishes in a bin and we can run them through the dishwasher while you are here. It heats its own water after all and saves effort all round. Don't know what time I will be home from work but it would be nice to visit with you after I get home.

That sounds really nice.

On another note, can you guys think of any reason Meg might have killfiled me?

I just tried to send email from two different accounts. They both bounced, and I'm freaking somewhat.

Not a clue. We haven't heard from her since Octoberish (when she interviewed with that salon in Bonner).

We've got her listed on aol.com, maybe it's something simple like her mailbox is full.

Yeah, it's probably just something like that; either that or aol has killfiled roadrunner because of spam. Aol is stupid like that; they ban an entire domain pretty frequently.
