Various, in no particular order

As of 8pm tonight, The Miss is 3. Wow. Time goes by fast when you're chasing toddlers.
We went to see my family on Sunday, to celebrate her birthday and see Sis's new place. (It's WAY out in the boonies.) She's figured out the present thing, so it's very exciting to her. And she's thrilled with the new clothes and the Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. More so than the birthday cupcakes, I think. Tonight, we did a low-key dinner treat with ice cream and the presents By's folks sent. And a birthday call from his folks. She hung up on them, as usual. She'll learn eventually.
Mom's looking tired and stressed, neither of which I can help with. Grandma's not taking her meds, and lying about it. Sunday, not only did Grandma not take her shots, she didn't even bring her stuff with her to Sis's, so she went from about 8am until after 6pm without testing her glucose or doing her shots. The jury's out on whether or not she's just that forgetful not, or she just doesn't want to do it; either way, she lied to all three of us about her meds that day. I don't know that there's anything we *can* do about it, short of sticking her in a home where she's monitored 24/7.
Mom's also stressed from work. The latest is that Mom's boss has decided that the grades Mom teaches need more math, so they're cutting out some science time. Because "that's not on the state tests for those ages, so it's not important, we may just cut it out entirely". You can imagine what Mom had to say about that. But her boss has had that kind of narrow-focused short-sightedness the whole time she's been there.
On an up note, Mom only has 6 months left until she pays off her house. Yay!
Met Sis in Lawrence this afternoon so I could send a chainsaw home with her. The new place has a wood-fired heater, and they don't have tools for cutting firewood. I didn't think about how she'll explain coming back from a work trip, in a work vehicle, with a chainsaw.
Salvage Guy managed to bang up his knee, and so he won't be here at all until next Monday. Knee permitting, of course. The lack of progress is getting to me, but outside time for the monsters will be nice.
The Sock Report: No real progress on the Osier Socks. In fact, I need to get out the sock I'm working on, finish ripping back until the loose stitches are all on the same round, and redo everything The Bug pulled out this afternoon. Lots of progress on the Sweater Socks for a friend...all of one sock and a third of the second, just last night. But those are done with 2 strands worsted weight and #10's.
The UnSock Report: Took a simple ribbed toddler vest with me to knit on in the car on Sunday. Am probably a quarter of the way through it.
The Doll-making Report: Embarrassingly behind, if I want to get my list done by Yule. Although I can blame a little of that on The Bug. He got into my work box a couple weeks ago, and now I'm missing some parts. I've got one resewn, the second nearly done, then I get to try to match the color to the original dyebath. Wish me luck. If I can get these two pieces close, I can paint and assemble the next two dolls. I've started sewing dresses, that's fun. Nothing exotic, just basic stuff. I'd meant to do the dresses in the vintage fabric, but that stuff unravelled too well, so I've set it aside for new fabrics that are easier to handle. I still have some ideas about gathering goldenrod from the field and using it to dye old sheets for doll clothes. Maybe sometime this week.
