No more motivation

treeskinIt's all gone. I soooo wanted a nap after lunch; almost fell asleep over the tree catalog I'd been reading. (Hey, it's work-related!)
As far as the boss knows, I'm researching maple hybrids until the trash people come pick up the full dumpster, then I'll go pick up my pruning mess from this morning. We shall see. I've only 2 1/2 hrs left of the work day.
I actually am researching maple hybrids, sort of. The guy that teaches the tree id class told me this morning that he thinks all of our silver maples (Acer saccharinum) are mislabelled, and may actually be Freeman maples (Acer x freemanii), which is a naturally occuring hybrid between red and silver maples. So now, I'm going to spend some quality time driving around looking at petioles (leaf stems, for the non-botanically inclined) to see if they're green (as on silver maples) or red (the hybrids).
And, I get paid by the hour for this.
