Monday morning rambles

I'm actually happy to see Monday, it's been that kind of weekend. Had a family emergency (more inof later for those that need to know), it's mostly taken care of, and the one involved is taking today off work and getting caught up on sleep. Again, thanks to all who were willing to ride tot he rescue Saturday night. I needed the reassurance of knowing you guys were there, just in case.
The HSA meeting yesterday was shite. I'm going to start smacking the president and telling him to shut up and get on with things. We spent a full hour on rehashing the Same Old Bullshit, and it was mostly the current and one of the past pres's doing the yammering. Maybe I'll smack both of them. I had to take notes, too, so I had to pay attention. Other people got to play card games on their laptops during the drivel. I am SOOO not running for anything next election season. Partly because, with the new job and teaching and our new family relationships and our other plans for the next two years, I simply don't have time. And partly because, gods above and below, these people are nucking futs!
Oh, and we voted for the designs for the festival shirts for next year. Gag, retch, and vomit. Three designs, nothing really good for a t-shirt, and the winning one a very trite piece of crap that I STILL say looks like a bad Llewellynn cover. (I said that in public, out loud, in the meeting, too. And voted for "none of the above".) The gal in charge of such things complained that the theme was not inspiring, and most of the usual folks who submit designs just couldn't come up with anything appropriate. Gosh, fancy that. Didn't that come up when we were voting for it? **shakes head** Just for the record, no, I didn't vote for that nonsense. Neither did my friends and family. But we're not that big a voting block in the org--yet.
In other nes, because of the family emergency Saturday night, I did not get as much done on the kilt hose as I'd like, and did not get the girl time after the meeting that I'd been looking forward to. Oh well.
I'm not going to get as much string time this week, either, because once again, we're overbooked. Tomorrow night, I'm staying late at work to sit in on Dr S's design class, to see what I'm supposed to teach next semester. Thurs is the first night of the annual show, the Friday of course, and we're going to sleep on Saturday. Not sure when By & I will find time for our OSO's this week.
