Been a slow weekend. It was too cold to garden, so I'm behind in getting my perennials & veggie garden ready. Oh, well. Had cramps all weekend, so I didn't knit--ripping out half a sock because it was knitted too tight is a lesson I only want to do once. We went out and rented movies Sat evening, and I did temari all day Sunday.

Hopefully, our email server will stay up for a while. It crashed twice last week, and I'm really getting fed up with that company. Not much choice, though, out where we live.

I was bad Sat; I spent the cold (boring!) afternoon at work browsing yarn on Ebay. Only made 1 purchase--a 3-lb cone of light grey fingering wt wool (aka sock yarn!). About $25, after shipping, for 6600 yds of yard. Not bad.

Started another sock project yesterday evening. I know, I know. I just coudn'thelp it. I've had the pattern for months....it's called "The Better Mousetrap" socks, from Interweave Knits Fall 2001. Odd construction--each sock is knitted as a garter st strip, long enough to go from the top of the cuff, under the heel and foot, over the toes, and back up, with a little simple heel and toe shaping. Got about a quarter of the first sock done last night, in 90 minutes, so it's a quick knit. Not sure I'll like the fabric produced, though. Sport-wt yarn, #5 needles, 5 sts to the inch....much coarser than what I'm now used to. We'll see.
