Hey Cat!!!
Aug. 13th, 2005 07:11 pmWe'd been talking about lace yarn for a project this fall, and I found this today. Merino laceweight, 1375 yds per 100g skein, sold by the bag, 10 balls per bag, $52.15 a bag. Down side is, only one color per bag. But damn, at that price, I'd buy white and dye the finished lace afterwards.
Shipping isn't too bad with these folks, $6.95 for the first bag, and $1.95 per bag afterwards.
(I've also been SERIOUSLY tempted by the sport-weight alpaca by Plymouth, on 1# cones. And lots of other things there. )

I think I'd have trouble seeing what I was doing. 669 and 165 are both pretty.

Date: 2005-08-14 08:33 pm (UTC)Just checked the pattern...it calls for 1260 yds. And this stuff is 1375 yds per skein. So, yeah, enough for 10 shawls, plus enough left over from each skein to make Branching Out, or several other, similar lace scarves.
I probably shouldn't buy the yarn until next payday. But we'd need time for the pattern to get here, too....
