Or at least, for the naughty :)

Had a restful day in the water truck on Saturday, followed by a lovely but not-so-restful evening & night with Boyfriend. By went to the party for the HSA safety staff, and ended up making a run to Lawrence to rescue somebody whose car broke down, because he still sober enough to make that drive, poor thing.

Slept in Sunday morning, and stayed in bed not sleeping until after noon, which was all kinds of fun. Boyfriend stayed and chatted with us all day, while By worked on his walking stick, and I worked on blocking some knitted things. Kinda nice to just laze around all afternoon and talk.

Got up late today, too, goofed off a while, then we ran in to Larence for string shopping. My favoite brand of sock yarn, Blauband Special, is being discontinued (!!!!!), and Yarn Barn won't have anything comparable for a few weeks yet. Argh. So the kilt hose I'm going to do for a friend will be in Dale Baby Ul (100% superwash merino), that's a natural color right now, and I will overdye once it's socks. Went to Hobby Lobby to price yarn for baby things for a couple of friends, and walked out with $40 worth of yarn, because their baby yarns are on sale. By the way, Cat, if you get a chance, check out the Baby Bee Pitter Patter eyelash yarn. It's the Hobby Lobby house brand, and it's more a soft velour texture than an eyelash to me. It's oooooooooo soft. If only it came in something besides "baby yarn" colors....

By's napping now, and I'm having a sit-down, accompanied by a couple of Tylenol. (My late cycle finally decided to make a showing this morning, complete with cramps to remind me what I'd been missing. Grrrr. At least it waited until Boyfriend left. It's still a bit early for him to have to deal with me in the "oh my gods my uterus hurts" mode.)

The UnSock Report: Got my Kiri shawl, Branching Out scarf, and Trifle blocked yesterday. Took pictures of those three, plus some other knitted stuff today. Will try to get the pics loaded and posted tonight or tomorrow. Got Clapotis and the Fenna shawl out of my shawl box to photograph, and realized I'd never blocked either of them, so I'm working on that today.

Am onto the edging on the Pi Are Square shawl. For some silly reason, I fell in love with a wide, fairly elaborate edging from a vintage patterns website. I'm sure something simple would have worked as well, but this one balanced the shapes of the other lace patterns in the shawl, so.....It's a 31 st, 8 row repeat, lace knitting (which means every row is patterned), but it's also in garter st, which simplifies some things.

I'm going to try to be virtuous and be more focused on projects for a little while. I have two babies to knit for, by this fall, plus the kilt hose for T preferably by mid August, plus I'd like to do a little something for our goddaughter and her older sister, for the child blessing their parents are doing in September. But this is a good mix of "brain dead" and interesting projects, and ought to keep me out of trouble for a while.

The Sock Report: One of By's kilt hose is about 12" long now, and two or three rounds from the end of that skein of yarn. So, I should have **just enough** yarn to finish those.

Am almost decided on the layout for T's kilt hose. The tree cable I talked about before, plus a cable I only have a picture of, which someone developed from some of the artwork from Rohan in The Two Towers. Very nice braided cable look, a little open and wild looking, and I think I can chart it from the picture.
