Good news and bad news

The good news....

1) It's finally raining. I'm looking at the new trees on the tree trail, and breathing a sigh of relief. About 3/4", when I checked the rain gauge this morning. Cleanest my car's been in a long time.

2) The truck is fixed, again. (see bad news for details)

3) An old friend of ours, Rob, is getting married this morning.

4) I'm feeling much better than I did yesterday.

5) Looks like Robyn's made up her mind, and she's going to the Baltimore show after all.

The bad news.....

1) Rob and Muriel are getting married this morning because he's been activated (Army Reserves), and he's leaving for Saudi this afternoon. Lady bless and protect him.

2) By had to put a new alternator in the truck yesterday.

3) I've been sick most of the week, and I'm still not sure I feel up to my original plans for the weekend. By's flying to Baltimore Sunday morning, he'll be back Wednesday. I was planning on driving up to Omaha to visit people, but the weather's supposed to be yucky tomorrow, and I still feel less than myself. Maybe I'll decide tomorrow.

My young cousin, the messed-up one, just went into the Army. If he's nineteen I'll be surprised. He's at Fort Benning. Gods keep him from this madness until he can at least take care of himself.

I'm thinking good thoughts for Rob. And for Muriel.
