The ground is wet enough this morning that even the boss admits we're not going to get much done today. He's learning, finally. I got grudging permission to "go help Donna in the greenhouse for a couple of hours." Probably a good thing I left out the part about spending all afternoon over there yesterday.

Got four plug trays' worth of seedlings transplanted for Donna yesterday; that's 15 or so flats, half of them basil. And there's lots more basil to do. (Donna's already reminded me that's my fault, but she's the one who said "plant whatever you want".)

Donna's got some of her Home Hort students coming over today to make hypertuffa planters and some other concrete projects. I expect I'll get some transplanting done too. Monday will be seeding again, but there's not that much left to seed. Just some stuff for us, and some perennials that will need cold treatments.

By had a short day at work yesterday, because he was caught up, and neither he nor Robyn were motivated to be in the studio. He took a bit of time to find Albert, and propose delivering lumber for him, since that's something that buggers Albert's potential lumber sales...not having a way to get the stuff to the people that want it. Albert likes the idea, except that the main deliveries he needs to make are to the property he owns in NW Missouri, that he's building a house on. But hey, if he's willing to pay By to drive all that way.... By spent yesterday afternoon and evening burning debris piles, since everything is so wet. It's stuff that Frank had said he'd do while he stayed with us, but never did, so it's nice to have it gone. And a lot of it was just old branches and bits, so the ash is clean and useable in the garden. He's planning on working on getting more stuff burned today, and cleaning up the driveway, since Fred will be leaving his trailer at our place after the woodbusting weekend (next weekend).

The UnSock Report: Not much done last night. Took a long hard look at the Sea Breeze vest, and decided that while I liked the pattern, and I liked the yarn, I didn't like them together. So it's tucked into a bin for a while, to be frogged out when I'm feeling patient. Maybe I'll use the yarn in a wrap I'm contemplating: an entrelac stole, in shades of red and warm oranges, out of all the novelty yarns By's mom has sent me. Maybe toss in that turqoise ribbon yarn, for a bright spot. *shrug* That's an idea that still needs to age a bit.

Got a couple of rnds done on the rug. I'm thinking of getting this set of increases finished, doing an edging rnd, and calling it done. It's awful heavy and hard to move around on my lap.

Spent some quality time with the Scalloped Hem dress last night, and I think I've got the waist shaping and skirt done. I need to pull the sts onto waste yarn and try it on tonight.

My other main yarn thing right now is price shopping and trying to plan a couple projects ahead. By asked me last night if there was yarn I was wanting as a birthday/anniversary present, or a project I've been wanting to do. So now I'm going through discountyarnsales.com, looking for things that will work for this. I've already got the pattern. Also contemplating actually getting yarn for and starting the Enchanted Forest Cardigan (sorry, couldn't find a decent pic online to link to). It's a wonderful oversized cardi with cables as pine trees and other trees, and a picket fence, and there is a cloudy sky with brids across the shoulders--all in textured sts, mind. I learned to knit so I could make this thing.

Am also contemplating a smallish project on the new loom, just to see what can be done with it. Maybe a chenille scarf; I have plenty of things for warp, and lots of chenille from the stash I inherited.

So much string, so little time.
