It is 8am. So far today, I have:
* woke The Miss up, bathed her, gotten her dressed for school,, and sat down with breakfast
* ran the first load of laundry for the day
* written notes for The Miss's teacher and bus driver, about her missing next Monday (dr's appt)
* got The Boy up and sat down with some peanut butter toast

Still haven't talked The Miss into doing her take-home assignment. Have to work on that the next few days.

The car is already loaded; after The Miss is off to school, The Boy and I are headed to Goodwill to get rid of junk.

Talked to Mom last night; Grandma isn't doing well. Her hip is bothering her again--the one that they looked at doing replacement surgery on 2-3 yrs back, except her bones are deteriorated enough there was nothing strong enough to attach a replacement to. She's gone most of the last year without much discomfort from it, until it flared up this week. Mom says she can barely walk, or get out of bed, or do much of anything. And poor Mom, because Grandma seems to expect her to fix it somehow. Don't think they can do anything, given her age and state of health.

It is warm milk day, and I missed the memo. Since I wasn't paying attention, The Boy just trotted in with his sippy cup, stuck it in the microwave and hit the button for 30 seconds, took the cup out when it went ding, and trotted off sipping happily.

In other news, The Miss made it through her first two days of preschool without an accident. Yay for toilet training! She's still not consistent, but she's gotten much better the past week. She's hit a point where she doesn't want a diaper at all, even at night, so I'm doing laundry every morning, but I hope that she'll get past that soon.

She was much more cheerful, coming home from school today. And the note from her teacher said she was happier and more interactive than yesterday. So I think that, by the end of next week, she'll like school.

Had some phone calls from the local infant-child services agency. I know that The Boy needs the same help The Miss is getting at school, but there's something just off-putting about the people I'm talking to at the agency. I don't know what I'm reacting to, but I don't want those people in my house. Don't know what I'm going to do. I'm running all day as it is, trying to get everyone where they need to go, fed, and in clean clothes. Not sure I can manage another committee's worth of expectations.
