Saturday at last
Apr. 22nd, 2006 09:51 amNot much interesting to report, busy as always, but it's not that interesting.
A summary of my accomplishments, the past few days:
1) The transplanting for the plant sale is caught up! (That's a much bigger deal than it sounds like.)
2) Between Thursday and Friday, I transplanted 38 flats of tomato seedlings--at 48 plants per flat. The rest of the math is left as an exercise to the reader :)
3) Got the white pole (that used to hold a bird house, when someone else lived in our house) dug out of my flower bed, dug most (I hope) of the maximillian sunflowers out of the same bed, filled in the holes, top-dressed the bed with better soil, and now have it ready for new plants. Said new plants arrived yesterday, and I picked them up from Donna this morning.
4) By burned the four largish piles of garden debris I'd made in the backyard last night, so that looks much tidier.
5) Moved a bunch of plants to make way for a path to the soon-to-be herb shed, set another flagstone for that path, and started a short retaining wall there. There will be thyme draping over the retaining wall, eventually, and low creeping thyme between the flagstones, because it will smeel divine when I walk there. Or maybe cascading oregano over the wall. Hmmmmm. Still need to find a permanent home for all the lemon balm I dug up last night; it's heeled into my compost pile for right now. Anybody need lemon balm, lete me know. I've got lots, and can make more.
6) I've finished the third pattern repeat on the lily of the valley shawl, which makes for 2" completed since I picked it up again.
