Weekend: Had a quiet, restful Sat at work, snuck out early to nab salad fixin's from the greenhouse garden and then to home, to clean for company*. Company arrived, was chatted at and fed, and we (myself and company, as By had the sense to go to bed sooner) stayed up WAAAAY too late for our own good. Got up about 7:30, made ourselves presentable, and then the three of us headed to Sedalia to their little renfest. Enjoyed watching the highland games, enjoyed watching By win the dart casting there, and was teased to blushing (in public!) more than once by my spouse and my boyfriend. (I'm sure we confused people, as it was a small event, and first Boyfriend and I walked around holding hands, then I and By and Boyfriend went around the vendors the second time....) Made it back to KC only 15 minutes late for the HSA meeting, where I was nominated for registration committee! Gak! (If you're in HSA, and you're reading this, please don't vote for me!) Headed home, into the storm, which kept Boyfriend here a few hours more. Mmmmmmm.

Today: Made two deposits in the sleep bank today--8 hrs overnight, and a 2-hr nap this afternoon. And some very quality snuggle and talk time with By in between. Been mellow and contented and lazy the rest of the day. Pulled out an old UFO, a patchwork afghan that needs finishing, and have been watching movies and working on that.

The Sock Report: Took By's kilt hose with me to work on Sat, and made decent progress (one sock has 7" of the leg done, the other has 9" done). He tried them on Sun morning, and the ankle fit is still very snug, but he says it's comfy and feels like it will stay up. and they look fantastic on him. Got to start designing a second set of kilt hose for a friend, as a birthday present from his GF. He's got broader calves, so I can do something complex and big and showy on his. ooooooo.

The UnSock Report: Took the Branching Out scarf with me to work on at the HSA meeting, because that was an easier "split attention" project. It's over 4' long now; I think I'd like it 6' long, so I could braid it into my hair if I wanted. Looks like there will be plenty of the Zephyr yarn left over; I'm contemplating something small and very soft, like a lace handkerchief. Not at all practical, but fun to make, and lovely, and wonderful to touch.

*Company = Boyfriend, in case that wasn't clear. Humor me. This is all still new, and intense, and I'm still having attacks of "shy" over it. But I am enjoying it very much.

Failed another saving throw versus temptation tonight, and am up IM'ing 45 minutes past the curfew I'd set for myself.

On an up side, my Branching Out scarf is now 5' long. Maybe I'll get it finished tomorrow.
