We noticed an odd warm spot on the side of the fridge last night. The fridge came with the house, and is probably the same vintage, so about 30 yrs old, so we kind of expect malfunctions, and are talking about replacing the thing. But By being the universal solvent, figures he can maybe figure out what's wrong and save us some money on repairs. After a brief investigation into the back of the refrigerator, and the workings thereof, By discovered a dried-out, neatly disembowled mouse wrapped around the fan blade. It looked like the mouse had tried one of those through-the-ventilator-shaft stunts you see in the movies, and missed. Anyway, he removed the mouse, and the fan started right up, no funny noises to indicate problems with the motor or anything. *crosses fingers*

I half expect to come out into the kitchen some dark night, and find the cats being chased around by the ghosts of dead mice.

In other news...tried to call Mom last night, but she's not home. Been wanting to talk to her about the new state school board, and their desire to push ID back into Kansas classrooms. I expect I know her position, but it's fun to get her riled up sometimes.

Remember the tree moving from last week? It got changed again, between Saturday morning and yesterday. Ended up moving 8 trees, changing the angle of a power line, and we've been told that no matter what the VP wants, the 8 trees will need to go somewhere else on campus. I work for people who (a) can't read blueprints well enough to see this the first time, and (b) have had all the common sense educated out of them.

Only got 1 ball finished last night, and halfway through another. That puts me at 16 completed. Both of last night's temari were pretty fussy...the half-done one has 24 vertical divisions, on a ball about 1.5" in diameter. The division lines are about 1/4" apart, at the equator. Looks cool, though.
