Back to the grind. I guess the crew had to come in early yesterday and some folks today too, to take care of the lingering ice. Blech. We might get more ice from this system, we might not. Depends on how the freeze line moves later today. Just rain right now. Main hazards on the roads on the way here were drivers who thought the world had come to an end.

The seminars were good, for the most part. Got to hear Dr Michael Dirr speak, and John Brooks. The turf guy's talk yesterday morning was bad--more an advert for the turf industry and his brand of equipment than anything else. I wasn't sure how Mr. Brooks' talks would go, designers tend to be really good or really bad, but his were great. He's just as much of a curmedgeon as Dr. Dirr, which made for an entertaining Monday.

Best part of the seminars was that they counted as two work days, so I get to spend Fri and Sat at home this week. And this is already a long weekend, because the college is closed Monday for Martin Luther King Day. I <3 my government job.

By spent some quality time designing for the new master bedroom last night. We're going to put down a wide plank floor (because we've already got the materials), probably a crumpled-paper finish on the walls, and now he's figuring out what he wants on the ceiling. Oh, and cove lighting. One of the things we've disliked about the house since we moved in is the lack of good built-in lighting. Weather permitting, we'll head to the farm this weekend to measure/inventory furniture, towards bringing that up here and finding places for it.
