I finished the knitting on Betty at 2:30 this morning. (She's sitting beside the computer as I type, waiting for me to weave in ends and add the fastenings.)
Ended up running around most of yesterday evening. By got home from work early, and wanted to go back to Cummins and grab the rest of the tile for that counter job, and I needed the hooks and eyes and clips and elastic for Betty. So, Jo-Ann's for that stuff, plus yarn to do another Vegan Fox for someone, plus some very soft stuff to make chemo caps for a guy in HSA. Poor fellow, went into the hospital the day before Xmas. Then to Walmart and Kohl's, hoping for a just-above-the-knee length skirt to wear tonight. No luck. Found one at Kohl's, but the fit was very much not flattering. I know people who would have worn it anyway, but I'm aiming for a bit more class than that. A brief run through Hobby Lobby because the pattern for Betty calls for hook and eye tape (which would speed things up immensely), but no luck there either. Then to Andy's Wok for a leisurely dinner. We'd heard someone telling another customer that two of the cooks hadn't shown up that night; food was good, but the service was painfully slow.
BTW--Cat, the Hobby Lobby at Metcalf and 119th carries patterns by the designer at Heartstrings Fiber Arts. Some very nice, approachable lace shawl and scarf patterns, and some pretty beaded or lace sock patterns. I think my mohair may want to become this when it grows up.
