We were self-indulgent Sat night, and combined our trip to Hobby Lobby for leather odds and ends with a trip to Blockbuster for movies. Heavy Metal, The Italian Job, a Japanese flick called The Returner, and Return of the King. The Returner was pretty cool, a sci-fi, back from the future to fix a disaster before it happens sort of film.

Sunday was the HSA meeting, which we were late for, because we were watching a movie that morning, and started it late. HSA meetings are always an exercise in herding cats. Ended the evening at the Charlesworth's home for dinner and talking. Turns out they were serious about us being godparents for Maia. Scary. I didn't think we were that responsible.

By spent yesterday hard at work on the casket-cases. He's having trouble getting the right angles and bevels cut on the wood sides, and he REALLY wants to have at least one of them done for Friday night. They're difficult enough to make the price prohibitive, but worth the trouble as a show-off piece.

I tried and tried, but couldn't help myself...I started Another Knitting Project this weekend. The Sock Report )

Haven't started thinking about Xmas gifts yet, except for a couple of people. Need to finish and pack up some things; as it is, By's folks will get their package late this year. I need to put clasps on a couple of beaded bracelets for my sister, we're buying presents for her kids and husband (clothes, usually). We're getting some groceries for my grandmother, and I have no idea what to get Mom. She always says we're not supposed to get her anything, but gee whiz, we stay at her house, eat her food, I feel like we need to do SOMETHING for her. Ah well. Got a little while to think about it.
