Procrastinating
Aug. 21st, 2004 09:14 amI'm supposed to be out spraying weeds this morning, but it's still so foggy out, and I just don't relish the idea of being out and about in the golf cart, in such poor visibility.
Not much news-wise yesterday. I mulched most of the day, came home very tired, and went to bed very early (9-ish). Got a little knitting done, not much.
Called Mom last night. My sister is supposed to find out on Monday if they're going to induce labor (that day) or hold off another 2 weeks. Mom says she's holding up ok, mostly tired, and uncomfortable from the drugs they gave her for the anemia. So, I very much need to spend some quality time with the Tigger afghan this weekend.
Mom was all hot to trot about the latest school board decisions in Kansas. For those not keeping track of such things, the same batch of yahoos who voted that it wasn't necessary to teach evolution in science classes, are back in office. Their current target is world history--apparently that's not necessary in Kansas schools either. Instead, they should be focusing more on state and national history. Mom says she's heard rumors that the evolution and science curriculum broohaha will be coming back around as soon as they finish butchering the history curriculum.
sdemory, you heard about any of this from your mom? I'll bet she's got some choice things to say about it too. To me, this is one more strong argument for homeschooling.
