Monday's revenge

I should have stayed in bed today--would have, if I'd had a better excuse. The day started with harassing the contractor about MORE unauthorized substitutions on the parking garage landscaping....spent the morning chasing the part-time staff who had my pruning tools, only to find them lounging under a tree in one of the few "can't be seen from the roads or buildings" areas left on campus. Bastards. Had to deal with Facilities Director three times already today, to sort out the shrub substitutions and his general lack of understanding. How do you get that job, without being able to read plans and blueprints? *shakes head* My boss is on vacation and not able to ride herd on the part-time staff, so I went and talked with his boss (Maintenance Supervisor) about the two lounging in the back field, and the general attitude among the part-time staff. Doubt it's going to do any good, but I tried. Eventually, I figure he'll get tired of hearing from me, and finally deal with it just to shut me up.

I have no idea how the OS upgrade on our machine went....ranjtheobscure was half done with it when I went to bed last night, and I didn't wake up enough to ask By when he came to bed. *crosses fingers*

I'm stuck in here, having a turkey pastrami sandwich and carrots for lunch, when what I really want is a bottle of hard cider and a nap, in that order. Five hours left in the day. *sigh*

The day did not get any better

Still very much cranky. My lunch hour ended with being told f*** you by the part time staff I'd caught lounging, because I'd "gotten them in trouble". Honey, you haven't seen trouble. I COULD take that to HR--and they'd be all ears, I'm the only full time female in the department. Between PT and contractors, though....

Think I'm going to have that cider now. Never made it to the nap, more's the pity.
