Got the two flats of stuff I brought home from the greenhouse last Friday planted yesterday morning....two eggplants, a bunch of native vervain, celosia, annual phlox, and more hesperis. Parts of the iris beds are beginning to look cheerfully full. I'm hoping it will rain this afternoon, so I won't have to go water.

Had a nice visit with [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat yesterday afternoon. We talked, and fondled the linen she'd brought to dye. While the fabric was soaking, I got lots and lots done on that crocheted rug. I might finish it today, depends on how much time I spend practicing (which should be lots). My hands are still slightly pink from mixing the dye water bare-handed, but not as bad as Cat's hands, which were almost as red as the Coke can when she left last night.

Today's agenda:
* water (if it's not rained by 4 or 5 this evening)
* put my music notebook in order for the performances this week
* PRACTICE
* tidy the kitchen a bit
* work on the rug

The UnSock Report: close to done on the big rectangular rug. Decided I didn't like the proportions, so I've been doing extra rows on the sides, to make it wider without being a lot longer. It's about 2' wide now, and 5-6' long. I think I'm aiming for 3' wide, and whatever the length works out to. I think I've used up a dozen skeins of yarn since I started this thing. Go me!

...and archived here for later reading. And do read it...it's quite scary.

Will the 2004 election be called off? )
