Apr. 2nd, 2004 07:09 amKnitting: Took a long look at that section of border on the Stonington shawl, tugged experimentally on the corner bits, then ripped it all out. All the way back to the "pick up 105 sts across the side" part. The corners, as I'd interpreted the pattern, were giving me a line of already tight, won't stretch at all sts, which would mess up the drape of the fabric, and make a weak spot, since they're already under tension. Ah well. I made a start on redoing it another way last night; we'll see how that works.
Still More tired. Moved 4 yds of compost yesterday morning, stole some perennials and herbs from the greenhouse gardens and tucked those in here & there around the new Child Care building, and spent the afternoon planting vinca. Blech. I'm already sick of the stuff, and I have 15 flats left to do today. But, I did get to oggle the cute delivery guy from the nursery yesterday. Woo hoo.
Did end up sneaking some Kentucky Colonel and chocolate mints into the Child Care landscape. We'll see if the Director over there still likes me when those things take over 2-3 years from now.
Rehearsal was pleasant last night...just 3 of us there, to start, so we went through some trio arrangements of Gilbert & Sulivan stuff. Betty's taking the time now to do more than read through a piece twice and call it ok; that's much better, in my book. I very much dislike sightreading at performances.
