Jan. 15th, 2004 07:04 amDidn't get much done last night, but I did manage to finish By's Fireside Sox (I'd started the second sock during lunch at work yesterday). He was pleased. Going to start a set for me in green/blue variegated yarn plus bright yellow green yarn (stuff from the batch of box one of Donna's friends gave me last week).
Only got a couple rounds done on The Sweater. Oh well. Every little bit counts.
Ripped out the Cabled Sweat Sox that I'd started. I tried the first one on last night....too tight. The cables pull it in more than I thought it would. Guess I'll try it with the stitch count as given in the pattern, although that did look awful big when I cast that on a week ago. I really want to finish socks in that yarn.
Found out yesterday that I only work 3 days next week, since the college is observing MLK day this year. Only, I'd usually have Wed off, and I've got a heap big meeting about the bid package for parking garage that day. Gak. Guess I need to go talk to the boss's boss, and see which day he'll let me take off instead. I'd rather have it adjacent to a weekend, than in the middle of the week. Maybe I can trade this coming Sat for it.
We're down to one computer in the shop, which is usually monopolized by the shop steward, so I can only get my fix twice during the day. Must hit boss up for a replacement computer in here. (We've needed a replacement for over a year, but the guy who had brought in a personal 'puter as a loaner needed it at home, so now we're all twitching while we stand in line for our turn at the keyboard.)
