Terrible of me, to be sure, but we were up until 2am. Ah, the indulgence of good friends to talk to, when no one has to be up and productive the next morning.

Turkey day was good. Just us and [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat and [livejournal.com profile] ranjtheobscure and the cats. We got turkey and ham and the trimming, the cats got fresh catnip.

Got to show off my finished shawl, and the fine cotton lace I'm knitting, and the bird-eye shawl I started last week. Woo hoo. [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat had broguht her knitting, so we knitted and talked while the boys talked about tool things, and we all watched the movies they'd brought.

[livejournal.com profile] classics_cat had also brought us our Yule presents early, because she couldn't resist, I think. She says it was because she knew we wouldn't be able to resist, and gee, they were "some assembly required" presents. The two skeins of sock yarn I'd been drooling on at The Studio, woo hoo!!! I resisted for a couple of hours, then I scrounged enough sock needles to start a pair for By. Toe-up, with a small cable running just to the outside of the center of the foot, in a lovely shaded brown and russet. Since I wasn't sure how far 357 yds would go on his feet, I started one sock from the center of the ball, and the other from the outside, and I'm switching between them every 10-15 rounds. I got to the heels last night.

Today's goal is to get enough caffeine into my system that my head no longer hurts (isn't addiction wonderful?), dig out the charts for [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat's Greek-patterned Turkish socks, and put in some quality time with those. And see how far I can get on By's new socks *grin*
