The Sock Report
Nov. 29th, 2003 12:18 pmI've been knitting like a fiend for days now. Yesterday, I got about 4" done on the Greco-Turkish socks for Cat (which completes the foot and half the leg on the first sock), and heels and 4" done on the legs of By's new socks. Not bad.
Got a fair amount of knitting done on By's socks this morning. I will probably stop soon and do something else for a while; my hands are starting to feel tired. But it's hard to put down when I'm this close to finished.
I'm contemplating a texture pattern to accent my socks, either a band of seed st going up the foot, or maybe a soft gull's wing cable, without any purl sts around it, so the fabric ripples up the length of the sock. Looks like I've just talked myself into the cable.
Other than knitting, today's agenda calls for folding laundy and decanting/bottling the first two batches of mead in the back bathroom. Maybe I'll start that apple mead I've been wanting to do, too.
We'd talked about going out and shopping a bit today, but By has projects he wants to work on, some outside, and it's not super cold today, so....shopping and errands will wait until Monday.
