Ah, yeah.
I finished a project last night. Two projects, depending on how you look at it.
The Faroese shawl is officially finished, as of about 8 last night. Still needs blocked, of course. Even without blocking it covers half of our bed (on a diagonal). I probably could have gone down a size of two on needles and still had decent definition on the lace, and a somewhat smaller product, but not a big deal.
After gleefully grafting the last few stitches together on the shawl and weaving the end in, I picked up some #8's and some worsted acrylic and started playing with the cabled goddess design. Think I got it down, with a couple of minor changes. Even wrote down what I was doing so I can repeat it later--how's that for thinking ahead? Right now, I'm looking at a cable feature 16 sts wide by 60 (I'm guessing, forgot to count) rows high, most of the cabling crosses on the right side (I think there are 8 that are on the wrong side). Time to dig out some sock yarn and try it out on a pair of socks.
