I got a little more sleep last night, mostly because I am just that tired. Bad when 5 hrs is a lot of sleep. Not enough to make me more than just functional at work today.

I guess the show isn't going well at all. By said last night that a bunch of people are talking about suing to get their booth fees returned. He also said that they might pack it up today--if enough people leave, there's no point in the rest staying in a mostly-empty pavillion. The plan is still for them to be back some time tomorrow.

Donna sold $3000 worth of stuff at the plant sale yesterday. She made $4K last year; she's hoping to hit that mark next week.

So far, I've brought home: 'Lady' lavender, hardy red hibiscus, a white-flowered datura, some annual ornamental grasses, a couple 4-packs of the 5-ft-tall marigolds, tithonia, 'Aztec' zinnias, sulphur cosmos, some lavender and purple petunias, assorted purslanes, smoky fennel, and this weird purple-leafed Plectranthus......lots of fun things. And basil. Mustn't forget basil. Haven't decided what peppers and tomatoes I want for this year.

Up to the armhole shaping on the knitted tank top, about 1 1/2" from starting the neck shaping. I couldn't resist an unopened cone of denim ombre Peaches & Creme worsted cotton, so it's 7" into a different tank top pattern. I need more summer stuff anyway.

But, with the department manager supposedly on campus today, I have to pretend I'm working. Well, at the moment, I'm hiding. I'm in the carpenter's manager's office, with the lights off, at the computer at the BACK corner. I think that counts as hiding.

I did get stuff done today--sprayed some trees for aphids, and put down a bunch of Roundup before it got too windy to spray this morning. This afternoon has not been productive. I think I'm going to go back down to the garage and try to stretch cleaning my sprayers out to cover the rest of the afternoon.

The boss approved my leave for the week I'm goign to stay with my mom after her surgery--not that I thought it wouldn't go through, but it's nice to have the piece of paper in my hand. The tenative schedule is that I go to Lincoln after work Thurs, June 5, or early Fri morning. I'll probably stay there until the following Thurs or Fri, depends on how Mom is doing. By will be there for part of that time, but not all. Don't know how we're going to work that yet.

We'd like to take the big tiller with us, and till another strip for a hedge on the other side of her house. We did one oh, 4 yrs ago, on the east side of her yard, and she needs one now to keep the renters next door from parking on her grass. It's a good way to get rid of seedlings from the Amur honeysuckle by my compost pile. And I'd rather do these things for Mom, rather than have her try to do them herself, or pay to have them done--she just can't afford it right now.
