Once more into the cold
Feb. 27th, 2003 08:11 amArgh. We're back to the "it takes 5 minutes and removal of 6 garments before I can even think about going to the bathroom" stage.
NPR this morning (5:30 am) was calling for 2-4" of snow. The weather channel disputes that, now. Cross your fingers. I'm ready for spring. I've had my winter break, I'm tired of snow, I want to get out and plant things.
I really don't want to take the time to mess with snow this week. The higher-ups have finally started talking about a design for the sign that goes at the start of the tree trail, and guess who gets to dredge up the info for it, because they wouldn't know a catalpa tree if it bit them. I really need to be working on that, so when the weather warms up I will be free to go spray fungicides and dormant oil.
No sock progress last night. Did get a few rows on the doily finished. That's an achievement, because I dropped it, and 3 sts slid off the needle and unravelled. Yikes!!! They only went down 3 rows, and it was one of the easier parts of the lace pattern to reconstruct. If I don't end up doing snow this afternoon, I expect to have time to finish that doily and maybe start another one.
By's doing 32 hrs a week at work until she tells him otherwise. It's not really news, except that she waited so long to decide she had to cut hours. By's starting to go back to some of the projects he didn't have energy for in the preparations for Baltimore. So, out have come the patterns for the coat he wants for next year's annual show, and--oddly enogh--teddy bear patterns. Don't ask, he might tell you. It's scary. And orange.
