Purple Altoids Tin Book

The box is your basic altoids tin, with one coat of primer and two coats of purple spray paint. The top has been overlaid with an ivory mulberry paper, which turned transparent in the glue, except for the fibery spots. Plus a couple scraps of pink silk thread, because it was on the table when I was working on this. Whole thing sprayed with Aquanet as a fixative.

The cord that shows at the spine end of the book is to make it easier to get the book out of the box.

Four signatures, 120 pages (less the outer 4 pages of each signature, which are inserted into the folded paper cover). 3 1/4" long by 2 1/16" wide x 7/16" deep (including cover). "Butterfly" cover, from Keith Smith's Non-Adhesive Binding, Vol 3: Exposed Spine Sewings. The text block is from some strips of trimmings from the print shop dumpster. I may decorate the cover more later, I don't know. I'm half afraid to do too much to the cover, and make it too hard to get the book out of the box.
Because I could.
