Would have spent yesterday in the watering truck except that the power plug for the pump on the tank kept blowing fuses, so I spent the day cussing the wiring. (One of my coworkers is kindly rewiring it now.) Too hot and humid for much else.

By started working for Terry yesterday on a roofing project (I guess it's part of the 18th & Vine refurbishing that the city's been dinking around with for years). The word is, 6 days a week, starting at 8am, until the project is done or unless the weather's bad. He came home last night completely filthy....the house they're starting on had been gutted by a fire, so everything's sooty. He also came home with a present for me--the back of the truck was 2-deep in bricks salvaged from the chimney of the house. Awwww.

The Sock Report: Since I spent most of the day in the water truck yesterday, I got some socking done. Had I not made stupid counting mistakes when I was turning the heel--three times--I might have had the sock done. Instead, I'm about an inch onto the leg. Here's hoping the next one goes better.

The UnSock Report: I did get two of the three unblocked shawls done on Tuesday....the wool singles one, and a circular grey one I'd made a year or so back. The circular grey turned out nice, rather larger than I'd expected, but that's always good. The wool singles one...wow. That's all I can say. It took two hours and 300+ pins to stretch, plus the four washings to get all the old grime and lanolin off the yarn (this was someone else's stash yarn, long in storage, and I didn't realize how dirty it was until I started washing it). But it's worth it. It came out that perfect creamy wool color, the lace is fantastic, and I REALLY need to sit my but down and chart the pattern out before I forget what I did. Note to self: charge the batteries for the !@#$@# camera.

Didn't do much knitting last night, just a couple of rows on the "faroese styled" shawl in Homespun.
