It rained just enough yesterday to derail most of my at-work plans. Looks like it's going to be that way the rest of the week. New Boss is absent today--his wife went into labor early this morning, so we don't expect him back the rest of the week, and that derails the meeting I was supposed to have today. Gosh, what a shame.
By worked for Terry yesterday, until the rain hit downtown, then he spent some time talking with Robyn. Not much news there. He's going to help her move stuff from her mom's house today, if the rain interfers with working for Terry.
Didn't talk to Mom last night; she must have gone into church. Or she had meetings; I forget when the library board meets. Must remember to tell her that we've finally caught one of the cats using the kitty hammock she gave us. My sister called last night, just as I was getting into bed; By said she just wanted to chat. So I should probably call her soon, too.
The Sock Report: got half of the foot done on By's second sock yesterday at work, while it rained. Will probably work on it more this morning.
The UnSock Report: I had a short attention span last night, so I worked on the round rug a little (just a partial round) before dinner, and the sleeve of The Sweater after dinner. I'm up to the first round of the key pattern, and it still doesn't quite fit on the circular needle, dammit--I think because at this gauge, the fabric doesn't stretch much. Was tempted to swatch for the silk lace, but resisted.
Other Crafty Stuff: scavanged some narrow paper strips (about 2" wide, by 15" long, I think) from the print shop bin yesterday afternoon. These are a heavy text weight paper, and I plan to use them to do some small books like I saw on
handmadebooks. The person posting there had done a tiny hard-bound book, almost credit-card sized, as an address book, and I decided I need one. Got the paper to do several, now. Need to see what By needs to finish the countertop for my craft area, so I do that stuff again.
