In other news, it's sunny and the snow is still melting. And I only have 20 rounds left on the More Than Circular shawl. How 'bout that for progress? (You guessed right--lots of time to wait for my slow modem to load pics....)

ATC = artist trading card

I haven't actually started trading them, but I like the format. THey're an art version of baseball cards, same size, supposed to be a more approachable, public art forum. Traded or given away, but not sold.

Ah! *comprehension dawns* That makes sense. So the pics are actually larger than the ATC's themselves?

They are on my moniter. Umm, poker playing card size. Which make them relatively fast little projects/experiments (most of these counted more as experiments with shape or media).

"Relatively fast": I have spent 3-4 hrs on some of these, getting the lines right and so on. Mostly the ones with detailed pen work.

All the cards are very pretty. They absolutely compare favorably with what I've seen from internet theme trades. I am in particular awe of first Turkish sock.

But, if we ever meet, fall madly in love, are torn apart by fate after a tempestuous affair when I'm drafted, captured, and held as a prisoner of war in Siberia - you should affirm your love by sending me Timber Frame or Aran sandal socks.

Thank you. I've joined a couple of ATC Yahoo groups, but I haven't traded with anyone in those groups, because it seems like they're all so into collage, and rather Victorian collage at that. It's just not me, and in contrast, my work seems.....unfashionable? That word works. Unfashionable, as far as those lists go. But for just me, I've rather enjoyed it.

And I'm glad you liked the socks--those represent two year's worth of learning to knit and adapt sock patterns. The Aran Sandal socks are my favorite pair to wear right now, which is unfortunate, because that yarn has to be hand washed, and I tend to put things like that off. Must make another pair, when I finish so of my other projects.
