We'd done our weekend running last night, in case the weather got as bad as the forecasters had been predicting. While in Hobby Lobby in Lawrence, a group of people stopped me, complimented my cape (the Japanese kimono coat I wear), and wanted to know if By and I were reenactors of some sort. I smiled, said yes, we used to be SCA, and what gave it away? One of the gentlemen in the group ticked off, in this order, the way we carried ourselves, our hair length, and By's facial hair. Oh, and then, lastly, the coats.

I'm still trying to figure out what they meant by "the way you carry yourselves".

Thoughts?

I was going to edit my response, but then decided to just type away....
....

Some re-enactors walk as-if they know someone is watching,
some heathens move as-if they know their connection with the earth,
and some of the people I know are More Real than the people I meet each day.

Jera,
Part of it is how you walk,
part of it is that knowing chuckle you have,
and part of it stems from being who you are.

You and By are different from the crowd in several good ways.

Let it show.

Love,
Adam

there. not too bad for just typing away.
ok. I admit it, I went back and corrected spelling.
It's the influence of my job at the printing house.

So, you're saying my idea of being low-key, quiet, and under the radar doesn't work as well as I thought it did?

And thank you, by the way.

It was just odd, having a complete stranger come up and ask that question....we were dressed very normally, I thought, and couldnt' think of why else she would have asked.
