The snow is melting off the parking lots in a very satisfactory way--much less for us to mess with this week. That's cheering. Means we can spend this week in proper JCCC pre-holiday tradition: hiding in the shop!

Gee, the week in review--went power shopping Monday, stuff for Casanova's Toy Box, a few things for some of my projects, and the seasonal grocery trip to Sam's. And books, just a few. Knitted on Tuesday.

By got his schedule for next week: he works Saturday, and Monday, and maybe Tuesday, depending on how much still needs done by then. So, we're probably heading to my mom's Tues night, and then home on Xmas, and to the airport the next day.

The Sock Report: Finished the Gemma sock (from the Zilborg pattern book) during the running around Monday, and started the second. Finished the foot on that one at work yesterday and started on the heel; the way work is going to go this week, I ought to have it finished by Sat.
I'm up to the decorative black/ivory band at the top of the Greco-Turkish sock. I wanted to finish this first sock last night, but I started dozing off while I was knitting, so it was off to bed for me at 8:30.

The UnSock Report: Got some done on the various shawls I've been working on. The feather-and-fan pattern on the Pi shawl is lovely, but boring, and it's hard to pay attention to for more that a few rounds. Luckily, I'm not far from the next increase point ont hat shawl, then I can pick another lace pattern for the rest of it. The maple leaf shawl is still moving along, slowly, since I have to read the chart every row. I'll have next Mon & Tues to myself, so I expect to get some serious knitting done.
Made a little zig-zag book Tuesday, with pockets to hold the cards I've been making--three panels, folded into a "Z". with pages sewn into both interior angles of the z, and the outer covers wrapped in an old wallpaper border. It's cute enough I think I should make some more--would be nice Yule gifts for some of our artsy people.
Also spent some time Tuesday sketching on my idea for a self-portrait card, which I have to do over again, because a four-footed and furry someone jumped into my lap when I was adding green ink accents to an otherwise black-and-white drawing, and spilled green ink all over the middle of it. The furry so-and-so got away before I could catch it, which is why it's still alive.

I'm long-winded this morning. It's breakfast time, so I'm off for a while.
