The UnSock Report: IT'S DONE!!!!!

treeskinWell, mostly. I spent a good chunk of yesterday, and all of thisi evening working on the Round Trip sweater, and finished the final cuff about an hour ago. I am now at teh dreaded Weaving In The Ends stage--about 30 down, oodles and oodles to go.
Did I mention this sweater was worked in lengths of reclaimed yarn? I ended up changing yarns every 2-8 rows (depending on the length of row and that piece of yarn). That makes for a lot of ends.
Dangly bits and all, it's not bad on. Looks quite silly over my blue and purple tie-dyed dress, but respectable over jeans and a brown top.
Haven't done any more on the lace fingerless gloves since Sat. My hands just hurt too much to do that type of work, between the daffs and the cold. Got the first glove within an inch of the thumb shaping, though. Good start. If the first one looks decent, I'll make its mate, and dye them black to go with my annual show outfit. I refuse to knit in that gauge (9 sts/in, approximately, it's a very stretchy lace) in straight black.
In other news, Kevin came over yesterday for lunch (sausage, waffles, and pear butter), and conversation. Stayed until almost dinner time. It was good to see him; he's been a hermit lately, and so have we, and he recently lost a family member, and needed a bit of distraction and kitten therapy.
Sent a "just checking on you" email to X on Sat, haven't heard anything back yet. Tried to call Y this weekend, too; he hasn't responded either. Hopefully, things are okay in parts north.
By's been hard at work in the craft room and garage most of the weekend. He's been putting things away, and making space, and finishing small projects to get them out of the way or off of tools. He'll need the space and tools for the commission he's starting this week. There are chunks of leather all over the living room right now, different weights and textures; he's trying various ones to see what braids the best.
