Time to cash that reality check
Oct. 28th, 2003 03:09 pmMuch as I'd like to go ahead and do the pear wine tonight, it's just not going to happen.
I just finished getting the first 5-gal bucket of pears chopped and into the slow cooker for pear butter. So, probably an hour until it's soft, then 15-20 minutes to run it all through the blender, then another two hours (I hope) until it's cooked down, and then an hour or so to hot-process it all.
I will instead rest, eat some lunch, and think about cleaning the kitchen in between stirrings and processing. If the kitchen's clean, it won't take too long tomorrow to throw some pear wine and apple mead together, and that'll take care of the rest of the fruit in the laundry room and in the fridge.
