Scene 6 -- Outside the CSB shop, while Yours Truly is filling the spray rig with herbicide. Scene takes place about a week after scenes 1-5. Yours Truly is wearing chemical-handling gloves, etc.

Introducing The Poobah Of Cheese, who is a vice president of the college. The Poobah Of Cheese is wearing a tie and nice shoes.

Synopsis: The Poobah Of Cheese has just arrived at work, after 9 am no less, and sees Yours Truly hard at work preparing the spray rig. The Poobah Of Cheese stops to have a few words with Yours Truly about the nearly forgotten baseball team name-calling incident. The Poobah Of Cheese (hereafter shown as "TPOC") wants Yours Truly to know that TPOC and another vice president have been discussing the incident, and want Yours Truly to know that such behavior is unacceptable. TPOC wants Yours Truly to come to him immediately if "anything remotely like that" is said to Yours Truly again. (This last is not new--so do Yours Truly's boss, and his boss, and his boss, and the head of the athletic department.)

Apparently, Baseball Coach is on his last "last chance" at the community college (mostly for just such behavior), and a repeat of the incident will garner Baseball Coach an invitation to find employment elsewhere.

Now, Yours Truly isn't sure how much TPOC really means that last comment, but it does warm Yours Truly's heart to think about it.
