the sock report

treeskinYes, there actually is a sock report today! Yippee! I feel so productive. I've put about 4" on Robyn's Turkish sock (the second of the pair) this weekend, I might actually finish the second sock today. We'll see. The end is in sight.
Finally got over to classic-cat's place to have Ranj try on the sock I'm doing for him. I'm glad I stopped working on it were I did; it's a little wide around the ball of the foot, but I only have to take out an inch or so. Easy fix. And he likes the colors & pattern, which pleases me greatly.
I was pretty tired yesterday from working in the herb garden out at Camp Gaea, so I knitted all day. Finished the tank top dress, except for weaving in ends and an edging for the neck and armholes. Decent fit, very comfy, a better drape than I'd expected with the worsted cotton yarn. AND, I hung it up for the night to see how much the weight would stretch it out--and it didn't stretch! Again I say, yippee! So, I have a new dress in time for Heartland. I'm still working on the other shell (the beige yarn); it's worked back and forth, and on #5 needles (rather than #10), so it's much slower. But I put about two inches on that one last night too.
I was bad last week, and opened my birthday present from By's mom early--it'd been a really bad day,a nd I knew there'd be yarn int here to perk me up. And how--several skeins of neato-keen variegated and self-striping sock yarn, 4(!) circular needles, and books of sock patterns. It's given my current projects more urgency; I can't wait to dive in to the new stuff.
The iris are in full bloom today, there's a rainbow on the hill. Maybe, in a few years, I'll have those beds to a point where they're in bloom and showy from April to September, but right now, this one month, they shine, and I walk in my garden every day, just to look at the colors.
