Still trying to figure out what to take with me, by way of handwork. Stuff to do squares would be bulky, and I probably can't get away with knitting on the plane. **pout**

But I'm being productive today, at least.

Misty just flew to Phoenix and back and took her metal crochet hooks on the plane with no problem. She says you can't take knitting needle's but you can take crohcet hooks. Might be worth a shot

The TSA has allowed knitting needles. Certain airlines might have put their own restrictions on them, or individual inspectors can use their "best judgment" in letting them on. Folks on my knitting list fly domestically with their knitting all the time. They recommend using circulars, bamboo, or plastic, and having a project already in the works - all as ways of seeming even LESS threatening. It is worth a call to the airline to double check their policy.

**nods** I've heard that too, but I've heard enough stories about it being up to the individual officers' discretion, adn I really don't want to have to deal with that kind of hassle.

I have drawing/designing things I need to do as well, and that's good on-the-plane work. And the plane trips are just about long enoug for me to get at least the basic cables done for Scott and Jana's kilt hose. I can have crocheting or knitting in the checked baggage,a dn do it on the road.

At Nashville, they still confiscate them typically, even with the revised regulations. For some reason the line inspectors don't remeber they are now legal, even when their supervisor (An uncle of mine) tells them the revisions.

By's mom suggetsed just bringing something small, on needles I'm not that attached to. But all my small projects are on good wooden dpns, and I really don't want to give those up.
