Hey sweetie, check out the Peacock Plumes Bolero from elann.com. Thought it would look good on you. Be a fairly easy knit, too.

Yes!

Hm. Yarn. I sense a trip to Yarn Barn in my future. Want to meet there some afternoon?

Could be arranged. I'll be needing to go soon, for kilt hose yarn. And!!! I finally got a pattern designed for Turkish socks for Byron. It's a styllized phoenix, with a tiled background. Mixing design styles a bit, the phoenix is tribal looking, and the background is based on a Chinese lattice, but it works. He wants it in shades of blue, on black.

I'm tempted by that pattern myself, although I think I'd work it cardi length instead. Not sure that's a good length for me.

Forgot to add: Looks like I'll be having Mondays and Tuesdays off, still. Does that fit in your schedule at all?

Depends on when Yarn Barn closes. I could be there around five on a Monday, or around four on a Tuesday.

I think they close at 6pm M-W, 8 on Thurs, then 6 on F, and 4 on Sat and Sun. Something like that.

That would work, then, if you're free on Monday or Tuesday late afternoon. (How long does the babysitting gig last?) We shouldn't go till after the first of the month anyway.

Do-able. The babysitting gig has been over for a while; they found someone willing to watch the kids for a couple hundred a month, and she can be there that 2-hr block, all week.

And yes, after the first of the month would be good. (Hopefully, by then I'll know what my pay rate at the new job will be. Still haven't heard yet.)

Oh, splendid! Yeah, a Monday or Tuesday at five or four (Mondays I have a meeting at 3:30, Tuesdays my class doesn't get out till four) would be perfect. I think I can find my way to Yarn Barn from campus. :)

As if you two need to be allowed in Yarn Barn without supervision....

*snort*

It is STRING in all sorts of pretty colors, textures, varying amounts of softness, stretchiness and the like.

We ALL know that there is not enough room in your house for all the string you would end up with given free reign. ;-) (or enough ?string? to hang yourself with? ;-P )

I have plenty of faith in you. But look at the situation:

You and Cat. Alone in a string store.

You need to purchase some for projects, therefore you are going in expecting to spend money.

You just got your dream position, to be exact a position for which the job description was taliored specifically for you. This means a celebratory mood.

So, to sum up:

2 people that do not count as adult supervision + preknowledge of spending money during visit + celebratory mood = (you do the math ;-) )

Mrph.

I have a saving throw against temptation: I still don't know what I'm going to be making at this dream job. So, the shopping is just business. Really.

But.... it sounds like you should have full knowledge of the new wage at the time of this trip. ;-)

What? A True Believer of the Gospel of Yarn, not knowing the way to Mecca?

(The easy answer is, I have a cell phone now, you can call me for directions :) )
