Taking a break between tanks of Roundup, letting my hands rest. One more tank to do, then I'm done with this round. And I can spend the afternoon in the truck watering flowerbeds and knitting.

New Boss came in after all, but he says he'll only be in until 10 or so. **crosses fingers** Boss-free time = more time to knit, and to do HSA things on the work computer & printer.

For the doubtful, no, I didn't make it to bed before 11. Did manage to be in bed by 11:30 though. Ended up staying up to do secretarial things, so it was kinda necessary.

[livejournal.com profile] classics_cat, I think I've found the perfect pattern for the last of the Zephyr yarn. What do you think of this? Wanna do a knit-along with me? I like the look of it enough I may make it twice--got a couple of other yarns I may try it in, too. In fact, I brought yarn and pattern with me today for water-truck knitting. Doubt I'd have it done in time to wear for the weekend, but it's certainly fun to think about.

Started swatching the tree cable for T's kilt hose, and am half afraid I'll need to re-work the tree to make it fit. It's a much larger pattern than I anticipated. *sigh* Quality time at the drawing board. All else fails, I start going through my collection of cable patterns, and find something bold and funky for his hose.

Hm. I'm not sure. I'd need to find some fine cotton, since I don't want to wear wool there. :P

I finished the dress, by the way, wove in the ends, it's in the washing machine right now. I'm currently working on sort of a summer twinset with the rest of the cone (hope I have enough). A short-sleeved cardie worked on elevens with, hopefully, NO SEAMS. I'm going to experiment with a way of doing a set-in sleeve where, instead of binding off and decreasing, I slip stitches onto a holder, and at the bits where I knit straight, I'm going to make one and slip it, so that I end up with live stitches to do a two-needle bind-off to the sleeve with, which I'll treat the same way. I think I need more stitch holders, but it should work. The under part will be a tank top on 8s, very fitted.

How 'bout Sinfonetta, which is a nice cabled cotton (but still soft), dk weight, that Hobby Lobby sells. I also have other finer-weight cottons in the stash from Myrna. We could arrange this :)

The twin set sounds cool. Just stockinette, or are we playing with texture/patterns too?

Just stockinette, although this morning I decided that I wanted to run a line of purls up either side of the fronts, so I dropped the necessary stitch back to the 1x rib band at the waist, and picked them back up with a crochet hook into purls, and I was right, it looks ever so much better.

I need to figure out short-row shaping before I get to the bust part of the cardie, though, because I'd like to have a little extra to go across my chest but I don't want to actually do increases and decreases. I think there's an article on knitty that might help; I'll read it before I get to that part. I have several inches to go before I need to think about it.

The tank will be very plain; I was thinking I'd do a simple V-neck and back, and make it rather fitted and just long enough to overlap my jeans waistband a little. I'll do it on 8s.

We went to Joann's today so that I could get more stitchholders and a #8 circ, and I successfully resisted the impulse to acquire stash. They're selling off their Cotton Ease and there's a great yellow called Pineapple, but I didn't have anything particularly in mind, so there's no real point. Plus, why risk falling in love with a yarn I won't be able to get anymore? Especially when I really like Sugar-n-Cream.

You **really** need to try this pattern--it's a fast fast fast knit. I started it between noon and noon-thirty, and am 2" from done with the body of the thing. And the I-cord ties would be les than an hour.

**wicked grin** I really want to wear this tonight.
