Been doing my most favoritist activity at work this week. That's right--mulching!!! The tang of bark mulch, the fine sheen of it through my hair, such a wonderful way to spend a week.

Yup, I need a nap. Started the week off short of sleep, been there ever since. Fell asleep in my chair last night just after dinner, woke up around 10 with a one arm asleep, under a cat, and a terrible crick in my neck. Startled By awake as I headed in to bed--he'd fallen asleep in the computer chair. We're very exciting people lately.

By gets to babysit the building for an event tonight--some yoga thing. They want the whole building up over 70 degrees, which is much warmer than they usually keep it this time of year, but the customer's paying for the extra gas. Robyn's off at a conference, but it's something likely to bring in business, so....The intern called in with a migraine yesterday, so By didn't have to babysit him, and the guy will be vacationing in Israel from today through next week, which will be a nice break.

According to one of the guys at work, who had it from Maintenance Supervisor, they're putting another full-time grounds person in the budget next year. More reliable help, that's something to look forward to.

The UnSock Report: The dress is about a foot along. I'm starting to modify the feather and fan, because that's a bit more lacy and see-through than I'm comfortable with over my backside. Cat, hadn't you said you knew somewhere to get nice slips? I may need to get or make one for under this. (It'd be lovely if I could dye the fabric to match.) And I think I've figured out a way to take the eyelet columns fromthe feather and fan and use those to develop some princess-type seams for torso shaping. Didn't have much else to think about while I was throwing mulch yesterday. And yes, I am writing this down, so there will be a pattern to share when I'm done.

I had meant to make myself do an inch (at least) on each project this week, but I fell asleep before I could pick up the vest last night. I hereby promise to pick it up first and knit on it tonight. But it's about 4" along, that's not bad, for fuzzy tangly yarn.

If you're wanting to dye-to-match, I'd check Dharma and see if any of their shortie summer dresses approximately matches the shape you're looking for. Any kind of department store has slips--I'm actually planning to go to Target sometime this weekend to look for a new cami and scope out the slip situation.

Thought of that (even got their new catalog in the mail this week), but I was really hoping to find one with a built-in bra. But yeah, the short version of that rayon ribbon-strap dress would probably be just the thing. Knit or crochet a bit of lace to go around the bottom, tie the outfit together....

Ack!
Repeat after me:

I do not need another project.
I do not need another project.
I do not need another project.
