Jan. 21st, 2005 07:03 amNot much to update about lately. I spent my luxurious 6-day weekend knitting, big surprise. And yesterday at work noteable only because it's January, and warm enough I only wore one pair of pants to work. Oh, and I got my reimbursement check for my work boots yesterday, $90. Not what the boots cost, but every bit helps.
Today promises to be more of the same, only more indoors, because it's chilly today, and it's going to be frigid tomorrow. Ought to have the MSDS notebooks finished today, and I plan to spend tomorrow updating records and doing paperworkish things.
The UnSock Report: I'm beginning to think the Origami Kimono sweater is jinxed. The first two times I knitted the body on the thing, it turned out to be 10" too wide. The current incarnation is 10" too narrow, but I refuse to rip and redo it again. I just can't. And, I think I won't have enough of the green yarn. So...we improvise. Rip the right front out (it was half done two nights ago), rearrange a bit, to give an extra 8 stitches (and about 4") to the back, and then knit the front and back bits*. I can add a border on the fronts, that'll give me the necessary width there. And I'm going to pick up some contrasting yarn to do borders and part of the sleeves tonight. Not sure what color, yet, we'll see what Hobby Slob has.
* I just realized that that didn't make much sense, unless you know what the pattern is and how it goes together. So, it's the first picture here. It's knitted in one piece to the armholes, then divided thusly:
--------------------------------------------

Or something like that. And then slightly tapered sleeves.
