Still typing on my phone-either is misremembered, and the data plan turns over at midnight tonight, or just can't get signal today.

Byron got one of the two kitchen windows replaced yesterday. The new one looks great and is nice and airtight. Now I get to measure and plan for new curtains.

Salvage Guy is installing the bathroom window right now. He's supposed to get that and a bunch of siding done today. But not any of the high-up parts of the walls he sided earlier, because his "help" won't go up the ladder. Grrrrrr. He *says* all that will get done when he comes out this Saturday. I let him know I'm not happy with the walls being half-done that long.

The contractor's helper is arguing with him over where to put a tool she's finished with. Because apparently she's not smart enough to just put it on the ground out of the way until it's needed again.

Gods above and below, I want this done and these people off my property!

Listening to Salvage Guy give his helper detailed, play-by-play instructions for everything they've done, all day, does *not* inspire confidence.

But thw bathroom window is in, insulation and sheathing put on the east wall from the bathroom to most of the way across the kitchen, and the kitchen sink window is going in. For the second time. I'm not sure what was messed up the first time, and I've not got enough patience to ask politely.

My sister reminded me today that things could be worse-she was sent home from work midafternoon to shower and de-infest. She'd picked up fleas in a foster home she was visiting. Now she's got to debug her car, and everything.

On a brighter note, there's bread rising on the stove top, and a batch of pumpkin-spice bagels in the works.

On a random note-my sister's eldest boy wears the same size shoes as my husband. The boy's 11, 5'2", and still growing.

New window over the kitchen sink is in, finally. Salvage Guy got the what-for for not taking 2 minutes to hose the crud off of it. It's salvaged, and stored a while, so it's dirty, but dude, he's working 10 steps from the garden hose. He also got insulation on that wall, as far as the back deck, and sheathing and tyvek.

He's got a maybe-job tomorrow somewhere else, if that guy can get the materials. If that fails, he'll be out tomorrow, Thursday otherwise. And Friday and Saturday, and whatever of next week it takes to finish. Which he's really motivated to do, because he wants his money, and because I've expressed my displeasure with the quality of people he's bringing onto my property to do the work.

In less grumpy news, there are fresh pumpkin-spice bagels cooling on the counter. And they smell as good as you imagine they do. Don't you wish you're eating here?
