The problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but there is a lot we don't actually know. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Let me make you a Top 5 list. Post a topic, list, category, whatever, in the comments, and I'll post the top 5 according to me. Then post this offer in your own journal.

(You all do realize, of course, that you should probably not ask me for popular music or movies. I just don't remember those things.)

No update on Grandma, as of yesterday. I tried calling Mom a few times, and my sister, without success. Doubt I'll be able to call them tonight, as my entire evening is eaten up by school stuff.

Yesterday evening was consumed by the Quest For Yarn. Just one skein of yarn, a mere 41 yards of Bernat Envy, in "sultry sable". I thought I'd make a little time for myself later in the week by making a quick (ha!) stop at Hobby Lobby on the way home. They didn't have it. So I call home, tell By I'll be a bit later because I'm going to stop at Walmart The Evil Empire (tm) to see if they've got it. By suggets, in the interests of actually finding what I'm looking for, that I skip that, go straight to the house, pick him up, and we go to the big Hobby Lobby(*) on Metcalf, or Joanne's, because surely one of them will have it. Which, they didn't. Hobby Lobby did, however, have a nice pattern book of fair isle shawls, by Philosopher's Wools, on clearance for $6. Joanne's had nothing usesful. So we got dinner at Andy's Wok, headed home, making a last-ditch stop at The Evil Empire (tm), just in case. And sure enough, there it was.

**sigh**

It's one of those weeks, I guess.

And I realized this morning, as I was entering the construction-zone traffic jam on College Blvd, that I'd forgotten my teaching contract this morning. Grrrr. By's new schedule is coming in handy--he's got time to run it over to Donna's house, and she'll ferry it the rest of the way.

* I've decided that Hobby Lobby is entering into a Retail Axis of Evil, with Walmart The Evil Empire. Any chain of stores that play jazzy Muzak versions of old church hymns can't be on the side of the pure and just.

And, their yarn selections is sliding into "suck", because they're replaced half of what they used to sell with silly scarf yarns by the house brand.
