Not all cats are graceful. I got a reminder of that this morning. There I was, sitting sleepily on the toilet, when our Fox-kitten came careening into the room, tried simultaneously turn a corner and bounce off the side of the bathtub onto the toilet, and slide, quite startled, into the bathtub, from where he launched himself up the back of the toilet and from there to the top of the wall. Where he sat, licking his whiskers and projecting "I meant to do that." He was fine up there, until it came time for him to get down, and Bats-kitten was sitting on the back of the toilet, in his way. He attempted the leap anyway, actually touched the back fo the toilet, but slid down into the box formed by the walls, back of the litterboxx, and toilet, said box being just big enough to hold a Fox-kitten. He scrambled out of that and tore out of the bathroom, obviously ambulatory and undamaged, and did not show himself again before I left the house. Hiding and licking his dignity, no doubt.

Not much to report from yesterday. Donna and I got a lot done yesterday, because no one came in and bothered us. One of the dept professors came by while we were planting lilies, but he brought fresh(!)oatmeal cookies, so that's not a bother. I've got to remember to take my shrubbery home tonight--1 double pink crapemyrtle, and a bucket of seedling ninebarks.

Oh, and I got to meet DG's crazy daughter (the one who's problems have been causing DG to miss so much work lately). DG didn't want to leave her at home alone yesterday, so she brought N in to work in the garden for the day. N proved to be a decent worker, followed directions better than many of our volunteers, but there's something "not right" about the child. **shakes head** Not my problem.

Spent the evening playing with yarn. I pulled out all of my bins of yarn in the living room, and sorted it to come up with two full bins of stuff that can go to the estrogen afghan. That doesn't count the stuff in the back room, but as it is, I left things tidy in the living room, and I didn't want to mess that up by bringing out more piles of yarn.

I've got about 10 minutes left of my morning sit-down, then I've got to be productive for a while. I'm going to knit.

Square count: 36/169. Or 38, if you count the two knitted squares that I found in one of the yarn bins, which were the right size.

I've gotten a little done so far today: potted a bunch of coleus seedlings, cleaned some things, made a start at rearranging a couple of tables in the greenhouse for easier watering, established that the tiller won't be a quick fix, and told the maintenance guy where to leave the piles of mulch. Which sounds like a lot more work than it actually was. And I called my mom and chatted with her during part of that, so I've gotten that out of the way.

I'm going to knit for a few minutes, then go back out to the greenhouse. Sometime today, I've got to water that stuff :)

Grrrr.

I'd thought that I was going to have the place to myself today. DG had said she was coming, but hadn't shown up by noon. Silly me. She got here just before 12:30, said she'd only be a couple of hours, and wanted to do easy things.

Grrrrrr.
