Since it's the first time this morning I've had time to sit down and catch my breath....

Got to work today, found fertilizer for JF for her lab, showed maintenance where the broken things were, went to the high school, found the office, where the secretary eventually found the teacher I was supposed to be speaking for, and gave me directions. A 1700+ student high school boggles my mind; that's probably twice the population of the TOWN I grew up in, at least, at that time. I and a career counselor from JuCo talked to a group of 30 kids in an environmental ed/agriculture class....this was considered a small specialty class. My graduating class was 34 students, and we were a big year. **shakes head** There are too many people around here.

Had a long chat with the department secretary last night, always useful. Department secretarys are reknown on this campus for knowing useful things and people, and ours is particularly well connected. So we talked about the new instructor, and the fact that I'm not sure MB's qualified to teach woodies next spring (and immediately squashed the secretary's asking me if I wanted to teach it, hell no)...LH (our secretary) says the boss is really impressed with MB (for reasons unexplained to the rest of us), and that's why he's got her, with little hort background or experience, writing the curriculum for the 2-yr hort degree. **shakes head** LH thought that Donna and I ought to dive in and help with that, but gods above and below, we're busy enough already.

The folks who were supposed to bring a donation of potted roses by yesterday afternoon didn't; I'm hoping they put it off until next week. I'd rather not play with that today. And our shipment of potting soil hasn't arrived yet, which cuts out a lot of the things we were going to do today and tomorrow, because we're out. Ooops. Donna's got the company rep chasing down the order, because it looks like they lost the paperwork or something. Hopefully, I won't have to deal with that today either....

Managed to make it in to work today with everything I needed for visiting the high school, and the stuff I needed for a day at work, and all my fancy duds. Not bad, considering. I spent an hour after my phone date last night playing dress-up, trying to decide what to wear and how to accessorize. (There's probably something wrong with picking the outfit based on what looks best under the fancy lace shawl I just couldn't resist wearing. But I seldom get to show off my best work in public.)

No dead mice to find last night or this morning; the cats must've been too tired from chasing the last three.

...but all the cool kids are doing it, so:

You're Jack Burton.

At least I recognize this movie. Not at all sure it fits.

And no, I'm not working. It's my lunch break. Really.
