Had a surprisingly productive Tuesday: watered (my new morning habit), sent DG out to water outside since the ground's cracking, puttered a bit. After Donna got in, we looked at locations for new stuff in the rose garden. Ended up giving a tree trail tour just after lunch--the hort class from Olathe North HS. The instructor's a nice guy, and a few of the students were engaged and asked good questions, the rest were the usual adolescent jerks. But that lasted about 90 minutes.

Side note: had to break from this to go look at a pic of "Black Prince" martagon lily. It's like a chandelier of dark red lily flowers, very very nice. And the folks selling it think it's very very nice...they want $60 for one bulb. Damn. I'm obviously raising the wrong crops.

Anyway...yesterday...after the tour, I went out to the back garden and took over helped J'nee (the white-trash ghetto-wanna-be workstudy cranky person) dig the mint out of a bed. I ended up doing half of the bed, in half the time it took her to do a quarter of it. Bitch. But at least it's done. We're going to plant floofy double pink crapemyrtles there. And daffs. Expect they'll end up with a nice underplanting of mint anyway, there's no way we got all the rhizomes out.

Went home, crashed a bit, talked with By a bit, read my new bookbinding book and drooled over ideas. Must finish other projects first. **sigh**

By talked to Robyn a bit...looks like she'll be home in time to babysit that wedding in the building this Sat, but he'll still have to stay late Fri night and babysit the building for the wedding rehearsal. No word on how the show went, which probably means she didn't sell much.
